One of the important Smilart directions is its own system of object recognition and its application as a private person detection and identification of the person nationality. One simple variation of this system is presented by Smilart online on its own project Gale.ru.

In the context of the construction of a natural human-computer interface the problem of person location finds its application in face tracking subsystem and its characteristic features on the image for recognition of facial expressions to determine its position in 3D space to generate computer commands.

The human brain copes with the task of face detection in images more than successful. It would be natural to try to identify and use the principles that guide the brain to solve the problem of recognition.

Among the methods of making such an attempt can be determined two areas:

• recognition methods based on knowledge;
• ecognition methods based on features.

The method developed by Smilart combines both approaches.
